TEN TO NOON

$1,100.00

Through bast fibers of jute and hemp, and opercula hand-gathered from Oahu’s North Shore, this piece is an expression of the elation that comes from being in the presence of the sun. Stepping into it’s rays midday, even for a few moments, can provide a sense of nourishment, warmth, and upliftment. I feel the same joy in the presence of Inti, my daughter who was named after the ancient Incan sun god. It was during these hours each day, from ten to noon, that this piece was born: as the sun was it’s strongest and Inti rejuvenated giving me time to focus on this work.

TEN TO NOON is a reminder of the importance of taking time for oneself, particularly in the presence of the sun.
